DESCRIPTION:Dec\, 13 @ Show: 7:30 pm / Doors: 7:00 pm\n21 and up\n\n\nArtists\n\n\nThe Red Jumpsuit Apparatus\n\n \n\nThe RJA story goes back to 2003\, actually much further back to when brothers Ronnie and Randy Winter first started playing on acoustic guitars their grandfather gave them\, but we’ll skip the ‘they learned to play and formed a bunch of bands that ultimately lead them down the path to glory’ bit and jump in where they were making so much noise that it attracted Virgin Records who snapped them up released the bands debut LP\, Dont You Fake It in 2006. \nBy the end of that year the album was certified Gold in the US\, charted the singles Guardian Angel and their best known song\, the anti domestic violence focused\, Face Down (which is also featured in several video games) and spawned four music videos. A deluxe edition was released in early 2007 featured the track Disconnected which up until then was only available to Australian fans. \nSecond album Lonely Road followed in 2008 but the collapse and restructure of Virgin Records soon after left the band out on a limb and they became fully independent in early 2010. Being independent they regained full creative control and RJA’s sound and vision able to grow as intended. Since then it’s being done the Red Jumpsuit way\, Am I The Enemy was released in 2011 and album number four\, 4 in 2014. All charting\, all pushing RJA’s message further around the world. \nKnown for their devout Christian beliefs\, the bands spirituality flows through their lyrics which cover a lifetime worth of emotions. The darkness and the light\, the struggles and the wins. The RJA message is ultimately one of hope and a reminder that ‘Even on the worst day that you’re alive you’re still surrounded by so many awesome things that you should be grateful for\, if you choose to look at them.’ Ronnie Winter \nJuly 4th 2014 the band released their fourth full length record titled “4”. This album was produced by Lee Miles (their pre record label producer) & Ronnie Winter\, mixed by David Bendeth / Paul Lapinski\, and mastered by Paul Lapinski. Metal Hammer UK lauded a band\, “poised to morph from a promising project into tech metal titans\,” New Noise Magazine championed\, “one of the best versions of modern riff–y progressive death metal we have now\,” while Loudwire added\, “the band plays with lockstep precision\, turning the gears of their technical death metal machine as it steamrolls forward.” \n\n  \n\n\n\n\n\nFallujah\n\n \n\nCalifornia progressive death metallers FALLUJAH are swinging upward and venturing outward on new album\, »Undying Light«. With new vocalist in Antonio Palermo (also of UNDERLING fame) firmly in position and a no-filler\, all-killer songwriting attack\, »Undying Light« isn’t the follow-up to »Dreamless«\, it’s a massive jump forward. Whereas »Dreamless« wandered intelligently and resonated lithely\, new tracks such as ‘Glass House\,’ ‘Ultraviolet\,’ ‘Eyes Like The Sun\,’ and closer ‘Departure’ find FALLUJAH stripped down\, razor-sharp\, and emotionally charged. \n“The songs on »Undying Light« are raw\, confident\, and new\,” says guitarist/primary songwriter Scott Carstairs. “I think the last couple of albums we spent a lot of time experimenting with different elements\, such as clean guest vocals\, synthesizers\, or different kinds of instrumentals. This time around we knew from the get-go that we wanted this record to be raw and honest. We wanted to move the music further but still showcase the sound and emotions this band has always evoked. With the addition of Antonio\, we have been able to take the sound to new levels of emotion\, a sound we have been striving to achieve for years but couldn’t quite get to until now.” \nFormed in 2007 when Carstairs was still in high school\, FALLUJAH quickly commenced writing material that would comprise a 7-song 2009 demo\, the »Leper Colony« EP\, and a 3-song 2010 demo. Over the three-year period FALLUJAH honed their craft by playing shows large and small\, as well as finding more suitable musicians to play the band’s increasingly more complex songs. In 2011\, FALLUJAH released their debut full-length\, »The Harvest Wombs«\, on Unique Leader to rave reviews. The »Nomadic« EP followed in 2013 and second full-length\, »The Flesh Prevails«\, in 2014. With »The Flesh Prevails«\, FALLUJAH shot up Billboard’s Heatseekers Albums Chart\, settling at #2. FALLUJAH not only impressed their core fanbase on »The Flesh Prevails« but also the progressive rock/metal community – Prog Archives awarded it 4/5 stars and calling it “[a] step forward.” By this point\, the Californians had proven themselves on the road\, appearing on not just one but four different Slaughter-branded tours. FALLUJAH had also traversed Europe in its entirety. When the group’s third full-length\, »Dreamless«\, landed in spring of 2016\, FALLUJAH were full-on progressive – ex-CYNIC axe-wiz Tymon Kruidenier soloed on the title track – yet continued to hit hard. Praised on all sides\, »Dreamless« cemented FALLUJAH as extreme metal rising stars\, having charted in the U.S.\, Canada\, and Australia. For all its successes\, »Dreamless« also paved the way for what lay beyond. \n“»Undying Light« is something else entirely\,” Carstairs says. “We wanted this record to be a statement of what the band is and will continue to be. We made this record to illustrate who we are in our purest form. We believe this is the truest sound we have honed on in yet.” \nFor the »Undying Light«\, the lyric writing responsibilities were handed off to new member Palermo. Previously with former frontman Alex Hofmann\, the lyric writing on »Undying Light« centers on an ego-driven and apathetic society as a result of social media consumption and reliance. Carstairs says each of the album’s 10 tracks is a snapshot of a disillusioned\, narcissistic society. These aren’t examples of Palermo pontificating but rather portending the inevitable. In many ways\, the lyrics posit the idea that we’re already living the horrible scenario. \n“Antonio being such a talented lyricist with his previous projects\, we had confidence that he would have no problem writing the next era of FALLUJAH lyrics\,” says Carstairs. “Though Antonio was the main driver for lyrics\, it was very much a collaborative effort. From start to finish\, Datalysium is driven by imagination\, and played by artists who have full command of their instruments\, creating something that stands out of any pack while maintaining what made them such a riveting proposition in the first place. \nWhen asked to describe the record\, the band do so vividly: “Imagine if Necrophagist and Meshuggah were married\, and Cynic and Extol got married\, then years later they went to a swingers party to spice up their relationships\, which then became a regular thing. From this\, they all had a kid together\, no one knows who the biological father is\, but that’s cool because they’re co-parenting. That kid then grows up\, idolizing David Lynch\, Ridley Scott and film noir. He then goes to film school for a couple of years\, but drops out because he’d rather play synth music\, but ends up broke and homeless. Then Datalysium would be that kid.” \nThe album was recorded between McKinney’s home studio and Rydquist’s apartment\, with some vocals tracked at Flatline Audio with Dave Otero (Cattle Decapitation\, WAKE)\, who also mixed the album. McKinney handled the tracking\, while they brought in Ryan Williams (The Black Dahlia Murder\, John Frum) to produce some of the bass and vocals. Having been friends with Williams for years\, it felt natural to have him be a part of the recording process\, while Otero also contributed profoundly. A longtime friend of McKinney\, this is the first time they have actually collaborated on a record. “Dave is the kind of dude that just gets it\, when going for the sound or idea we have in mind\, even bringing an idea to light that we never even thought to do and collaborating and expanding on these ideas further.
